Project Completion: United Grocers Inc.

UGIlarge

UGI is a buying consortium for some of Canada’s top grocery store brands including, but not limited to: Safeway, Longos and Metro.  They currently hold a 34% market share in the food industry in Canada.  Since it’s inception in 1972, UGI has been operating without a website.  This past Wednesday, that changed.

My team and I at Plain + Simple had the privilege of building UGI’s corporate site, which was a nice change.  We specialize in corporate E-Commerce sites, so to do a front-facing corporate brand site is welcome diversion.  This one came with some challenges though.  The largest was the timeline.  Typically we would have a few weeks on a project like this, but this time we had about a week to complete the entire project.

Thankfully, I have a team that is very dedicated: We worked late nights and weekends to finish on time.  We have never missed a deadline, and this was not going to be our first.

On Wednesday morning, we launched www.UGI.ca on time, and fully operational, in French and English.  Go ahead a check it out.

Who Are We?

Our Family

Welcome to our blog.  My name is James Meyer, and my wife and I blog about our attempts to apply neo-conservative christian theology to practical daily life.  We are both 31 years old, we've been married we were 20, and our marriage improves daily.  We have 4 kids, 5 years old and under.  We're heavily involved in church life.  I own my own business, but am contracted full time as a software engineer, so I experience an odd mix of self-employed and corporate life. Christina is a stay at home mom, and that is a full time job in and of itself.

This blog is our journey in continuous self improvement and our constant attempt to walk with God daily and follow His will in our lives.
